1856 flying eagle 1c PCGS PR12. A famously rare first year of issue flying eagle cent with an estimated mintage of just 1,500 pieces. Despite considerable circulation, this example is still wonderfully attractive. Uniform and original light brown color throughout, interrupted only on the reverse by a small streak. Separation of the dentils is bold, with no areas of blending. The eagle displays partial feather detail, and a distinct beak and eye. The reverse wreath still displays separation of key design elements. This offering represents an opportunity for the cost conscious collector to secure this classic rarity at a price point well below that of typical, less circulated examples
