These Utah Goldback foil notes contain 1/100 oz of .999 fine Gold which is the first local, voluntary currency to be made of a spendable, beautiful, physical Gold.

The Goldback project truly began in spirit with the passage of the Utah Legal Tender Act in 2011 which recognized certain types of Gold as currency within the state. Since that time the technology to mint Gold into a spendable form for small transactions has come to fruition.

Currency Highlights:

• Contains 1/100 (0.01 oz) of .999 fine Gold.
• Individual notes are housed in an archival quality currency sleeve.
• Face: Features Justitia (Justice) cast in the southern region of Utah, with Balancing Rock and the iconic red cliffs in the background. She is depicted wearing the period settler’s sunday best attire, supposedly a few years after Utah was settled.  She is equipped traditionally with a blindfold over her eyes and a two edged sword and scales in her hands, representing the responsibilities of impartiality, fairness, and decisiveness that Justice must use to be right and effective.
