Each set contains 1 Lincoln cent, 1 Jefferson nickel, 1 Roosevelt dime, 1 Washington quarter, and 1 Kennedy half dollar. In addition, the 1980-1981 sets include 1 Susan B. Anthony dollar. You will receive 10 sets in the original government packaging, one from each of the years 1980-1989, for a total of 52 coins.
About Proof Sets:
Since the early 1800’s, the U.S. Mint has issued special proof coins minted exclusively for collectors. These coins are the finest quality ever produced. The blanks are specially treated, hand-polished, and cleaned before being struck with specially polished dies at least twice to ensure great detail. The resulting coins are of exceptional quality and have deeply mirrored finishes with intricate designs. In 1936, the Mint began assembling proof coins into prepackaged sets. Nearly a century later, these annual coin sets continue to be one of the most popular ways to collect coins. Although the packaging has changed over time, the basic concept remains— each proof set contains one example of every coin minted during a given year.
