The Goldback is designed as the world’s first physical and interchangeable gold money to accommodate precise transactions beyond the scope of typical bullion coins. Produced in thin layers of 24-karat gold, these bills are not only a great and affordable way to invest in gold, but also function as a voluntary form of local currency throughout the United States. These privately-issued notes may be bartered with like other forms of non-current money gold anywhere in the world due to their intrinsic value. Beautiful designs for each state series feature images embodying that state’s local traditions and the personification of a specific virtue. This set features the 1, 5, & 10 Goldback denominations from the state of Utah. You will receive 1 each of the 1, 5, & 10 Goldbacks for a total of 16 Goldbacks. The notes are protected in archival currency sleeves and are housed in a deluxe collector’s pouch with a certificate of authenticity.
More About Goldbacks
Producing the Goldback relies on 5th-generation vacuum deposition technology and advanced anti-counterfeiting measures. Designs are printed on a sheet of polymer that is then bombarded with the precise amount of atomized gold particles in a vacuum chamber. This 24-karat gold is then sealed inside by a second protective barrier of polymer, creating a beautiful textured negative image.
Four state series of Goldbacks are currently produced, including Utah, Wyoming, New Hampshire, and Nevada. Each series is manufactured in 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50 Goldback denominations to provide a convenient method of using physical gold for any size transaction. The gold composition of each denomination is directly proportional. For instance, the 1 Goldback contains 1/1,000th of an ounce of 24 karat gold, while the 50 Goldback contains fifty times that, or 1/20th of an ounce of pure gold.
